Project Mech is a first-person mech combat game featuring multiple distinct maps and an objective-based game mode. The player pilots a mech armed with miniguns and rocket launchers, managing a power reroute system that lets them shift resources between mobility and combat effectiveness.
Each map was built as a completely independent visual environment. From the forest to the lobby area, each map aims to tell a different story. Be it harsh god rays, or a clinical underground environment, each one feels visually distinct
The range across these environments was a deliberate exercise in demonstrating versatility across different lighting and atmosphere setups.
The Power Reroute system is the mechanical centrepiece. Players can shift power between subsystems mid-combat, creating real-time trade-offs between speed and firepower. Weapon systems include tracking, reload states, and AP resource management.
The UI is deliberately minimal and technical with thin line elements, and live data readouts reinforce the mech pilot aesthetic without cluttering the screen.
A cel shading pipeline runs across the entire game - environment, vehicles, and weapons - keeping the art direction cohesive across otherwise very different maps. The chunky weapon models with their clean outlines contrast effectively against more detailed environments.
